Biography

A self taught artist from a city of Miami, Robert Blanco is both studio painter and street artist. In his studio, he uses acrylic paint for canvas works. In streets, he uses spray cans for mural works. Majority of his work are influenced by his surroundings and how he experiences from them. From that surroundings, he processes his own inspiration from organic pattern of nature to cityscapes into his work.

In today’s time, Blanco is a successful artist traveling and painting nonstop. However, it was not all like that before. In fact, he was in different profession until the catastrophic event COVID19 occurred. This documentary piece tells a story of his return to art scene with a new artistic style called ‘unfazed’. The style and its origins are what inspired Everyartist to collaborate with Blanco.

In today’s time, societal/social elements and their byproducts influence one’s decision making. To certain extent, people may make decisions that are influenced by other element not solely based on what the people truly desire. And, they make decisions set by or shaped by societal expectations and ‘standards‘. This is what Blanco realized during COVID19.

Blanco’s story and his ‘unfazed‘ style encourages us to focus on what our heart says while being indifferent to other societal/social expectation set upon us.

Artist Statement

My work is a reflection of the world around me — the colors, patterns, and emotions found in both nature and the city. I create in two spaces: the studio and the streets. On canvas, I work with acrylics to explore form and feeling; on walls, I use spray paint to express movement and freedom.

After stepping away from art for years, the events of COVID-19 reminded me of what truly matters. From that moment came my style, “Unfazed” — a way of painting that rejects outside noise and expectations. It’s about creating with honesty, staying true to what the heart says, and being unshaken by what society tells us to be.

Through my art, I hope to inspire others to live and create without fear — to stay unfazed.
